Safety

Themes of the larp

The larp is about the AIDs crisis in the 1980s. The themes of the larp include fear of death and the death of those you love. Another theme of the larp is desire. If these themes are triggering or don't appeal to you then Just a Little Lovin' is probably not the right larp for you.

Anti-harassment and general safety

The safety of participants is our absolute priority as organisers. We urge you to report any harassment or other dangerous or threatening behaviour, or any other breach of our tolerance policy, to us as soon as you’re able. We will deal with it firmly, up to and including expulsion from the larp.
If you prefer to report anonymously or via a third party, we will honour that wish. In all cases, we promise to treat your report seriously, and to treat you with respect.

During the larp itself we will have a member of the organising team on duty at all times to receive reports of any incidents, or of any concerns that you might have as a participant, either in person or via a dedicated phone number. Contact details will be made available nearer the time.

Safety techniques

During the larp players will be able to use safety techniques to calibrate the intensity of each scene:
- Green:  This means that the player is happy with the scene and the rest of the players can raise their game intensity if they want to. It is a suggestion and no one is required to raise the intensity.
- Yellow: This means that the other players have to lower their game intensity. This is required.
- Red: The scene stops immediately. This is an required.

There will be an off game room available during the game for players who need to take some time out.

Alcohol

We have a strict rule of no alcohol before or during the larp. We want to make sure that all participants are sober throughout. (The same applies to recreational drugs.)

Once the larp is finished, there’s a party, at which alcohol is allowed
